Richard Berenholtz

Richard Berenholtz is a photographer whose work has long been associated with New York City and its evolving architectural landscape. His photographs examine the character of buildings, streets, and urban spaces, recording a city that is constantly being reshaped.

Across decades of looking closely at New York, Berenholtz has developed a visual language attentive to structure, light, scale, and atmosphere. His images do more than describe a place; they invite viewers to consider how a city is experienced and remembered.

Photography can preserve what a changing landscape leaves behind. Seen together, his images offer a sustained conversation with the city, balancing the precision of architectural observation with the emotional resonance of time and place.

Berenholtz is also among the three artists brought together in The Long View, an exhibition and editorial project connecting different creative practices and generations of experience.
